Premier mike baird urges caution as wild weather fears emerge
Mr Baird, who is due to go on holiday in Australia before attending a G20 summit in Turkey, said Mr Abbott had a duty to help Australians and should do so with greater caution.
“I do think it is important to keep an eye on the weather,” Mr Baird said. “What we’re seeing out of weste경주안마rn and western Sydney right now with strong winds, with gusts of wind of 140km/h, I think people are going to have to be very, very careful.”
The weather warnings were issued as some of the city’s high-speed trains, the NSW Transground Trains network and regional high speed lines were operating.
One train was delayed for about 15 minutes due to wind and gusts of up to 90km/h and another three trains were delayed because of rain and gale force winds, the NSW Public Transport Authority said.
An Adelaide-bound South제주안마 제주출장안마 West Freight Train from The Junction station to the Perth CBD, leaving Ayer, did not enter service after getting stuck on the A-line near the A-line bridge, according to the SA Public Transport Authority.
The SA-based SAB Group has sent a notice to customers of a number of freight trains travelling along the A-line.
One of the trains was travelling along the A-line crossing bridge, south of the CBD, when the driver, who had crossed the line just minutes before, lost control, causing a runaway train and rolling cars to fall out of control.
An SAB spokesperson said the rail company was still assessing the details of the crash and were liaising with the Rail, Tram and Bus Commission. The SABC has notified the State Highway Transport Corporation about the incident.
In Western Sydney, the worst flooding of the winter that began last year ended on Monday with a record storm expected to sweep across NSW by Saturday afternoon.
Stormy weather in Sydney caused damage to the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the port of Newcastle.
The Port of Sydney said the city was bracing for strong winds, particularly when reaching its peak.
